Joseph "Joe" John Burke formerly of Savannah

Joseph "Joe" John Burke, 60, of Exton, PA and formerly of Savannah, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA. He was the beloved husband of Susan Bennett Burke, with whom he shared 36 years of marriage.

Born in Savannah on June 13, 1953, he was the son of Joseph James and Theodosia Biedulewicz Burke.

He attended Blessed Sacrament Church and was an altar boy there for many years. Joe attended Blessed Sacrament School and Benedictine Military School, where he was on the rifle team. He graduated from Armstrong Atlantic State University with a B.S. in Chemistry.

Joe worked at Union Camp Corporation for many years in the lab department. He currently worked for Flint Ink Group as a lab manager and was the owner/operator of Seraphim – Imaging Photography.

In addition to his wife, Susan, he is survived by their children, Michael Burke and wife, Marilyn, of Oxford AL, and Katie Burke Tollison and husband, Eric, of Draper, UT. He is also survived by five sisters and one brother, Dorothy Inglisa and husband, Angelo, of Jacksonville, NC, Pat Williamson of Houston, TX, Ruth Wellington and husband, Ray, of Montgomery, AL, Jeanine Meredith of Simi Valley, CA, Jimmy Burke of Glennville, GA, and Mary Strane and husband, Tom, of Atlanta, GA; and by his granddaughters, Kyla and Kinsley Burke of Oxford, AL.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2013 in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
